My name is Peter Wright and I am a lecturer in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Roehampton in South West London. I also hold an honorary research fellowship at Imperial College London.
I completed my PhD under the supervision of Professor Julia Gorelik, Professor Sian Harding and Dr. Alexander Lyon. I held two post-doctoral research appointments in the laboratories of Professor Julia Gorelik and one under the co-supervision of Professor Cesare Terracciano.
I studied the control of cardiac muscle by hormones such as adrenaline and noradrenaline. These studies have involved investigations of the way in which the cells make sense of signals from hormone/neurotransmitter and change their behaviour accordingly. More recently I’ve been fascinated by the role of cell shape in these phenomena.
